The Five Elements (Panchtatva) in Vastu

The entire cosmos and human physiology are composed of the Panchamahabhutas (Five Great Elements). Balancing these elements inside a building is the core purpose of Vastu Shastra.

• Water (Jal): Associated with Northeast; governs clarity, rejuvenation, and life flow. Best suited for water features and meditation.
• Air / Wood (Vayu): Associated with East and Northwest; governs growth, movement, communication, and expansion.
• Fire (Agni): Associated with Southeast; governs digestion, enthusiasm, passion, and cash flow. Ideal for kitchens and electrical systems.
• Earth (Prithvi): Associated with Southwest; governs stability, groundedness, relationships, and heavy structural foundations.
• Space (Akash): Associated with the center (Brahmasthan); governs expansion, open possibilities, and universal consciousness.
